This photo shows a patch on the bottom of a fuel oil tank.  The tank is next to a sump pump system in the floor.  Patched fuel tanks should be replaced IMMEDIATELY.  If the tank leaks fuel oil into the ground or ground water, enviornmental clean up costs may be very expensive.  If the tank ruptures and spills fuel oil on the floor in the basement and in the ground water as well as soils below the floor, clean up costs may be extremely expensive.  The tank should be replaced immediately NOW
